Moses Mountain & ST.Catherine Monastery overnight

Tonight we will Visit Mount Sinai, the mountain and watch the sunrise from the mountain’s peak in this unforgettable experience. Also, visit the Saint Catherine Monastery,
We will take you very late at night to Mount Sinai, where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God, by an air conditioned bus. The trip is about two and a half hours long. There, you will climb (walk on manmade steps) with a guide the Mount until you reach its peak (2285 meters high). Please note that it takes between two and three hours to climb the Mount, therefore, make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes (no high heels!). When you reach the peak, you will wait to watch the sunrise, which is an absolutely memorable view. After relaxing there for some time, you will begin your trip back down Mount Sinai and visit the Saint Catherine Monastery, which is the oldest working Christian monastery in the world (according to UNESCO). The monastery was first called “The Virgin” but it was later renamed to its current name to honor Saint Catherine who was tortured and beheaded by the Romans for converting to Christianity in 307 A.D. The Monastery library preserves the second largest collection of early codices and manuscripts in the world, second only to the Vatican Library!
